The reserve lies at the end of the rugged Hottentots Holland mountain range and is a pristine wilderness of mountains, flowers, bushes, shrubs, indigenous forests and tributaries of the Palmiet River. At the time of our visit only track 4 (hiking, next to the river) and 5 (mountainbiking, above the river, we took it back to the parking while we didn't want to go the same way back and forth, 4 is nicer however) are opened. Cederberg Wilderness Area - The Cederberg Wilderness only three hours outside Cape Town is wild, rugged and captivating. Our 2 to 3 hour hike or walk is R 500.00 per person minimum 2 people there is a charge of R 250.00 per additional person. This is a moderate to long walk starting from the Iona Wine Estate to Perdeberg peak lookout point. to book your hiking permit ahead of time. At the T-junction in Gordon’s Bay, turn left on to the R44, following the road along the coast, past Pringle Bay and Betty’s Bay.
